…originally met with Ben Elton as he wanted him to write some updated jokes for Starlight Express. Elton declined, but they decided to work together on something new.

…was performed by Shonagh Daly as the closing song at the Ground Zero memorial service in October 2001. Lloyd Webber said he felt it was “an immense privilege” to have been asked to perform. “Ben Elton’s lyrics, although about terrorism in Ireland, are very appropriate…‘No child was ever born to hate’ is a message I believe we must remember now more than ever before.”
